MEBANE — Mr. Samuel "Sam" Durant Faucette, 86, of 2541 U.S. 70 West, died July 8, 2004.
    McClure Funeral Service in Mebane is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.

MEBANE — Mr. Samuel "Sam" Durant Faucette, 86, of 2541 U.S. 70 West, died July 8, 2004 at his residence after a sudden illness.
    A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 54 years to the late Mabel Dixon Faucette, and was the son of the late Junious Carl Faucette and Lillian Trollinger Faucette. He was a 1934 graduate of Mebane High School and was the owner of Faucette Furniture Store in Mebane since 1947, where he retired after 57 years. He was a member of Haw River Christian Church, where he was a member of the Adult Bible Sunday school class.
    Survivors include three daughters, Hilda F. Parker and husband, Charles, of Julian, Mary F. McClure and husband, David, of Monroe, and Melody "Dee" F. Earl and husband, James, of Greensboro; three sons, Samuel "Bud" C. Faucette and wife, Nancy, of Haw River, and Joseph T. Faucette and wife, Linda, and William L. Faucette and wife, Rita, all of Mebane; grandchildren, Sabra Thompson, Jennifer Blake, Richard Parker, Robert Vaughn, Wayne Parker, Samuel Charles Faucette, Timothy Faucette, Karla Robbins, Kelley Hinnant, Michele Robinson, Tina Norman, Kristy Privette, Tom Faucette, Ellen Faucette, and Brandon Earl; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Melba Lashley and brother, Roney Faucette, both of Mebane.
    He was preceded in death by a sister, Nell Jobe; and three brothers, Carl Faucette, Bill Faucette, and Wilbur Faucette.
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Haw River Christian Church by Pastor Brian Biggers, and Pastor James L. Rosser. Burial will be in Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.
    Visitation will be at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the residence, 2541 U.S. 70 West, Mebane.
