According to the 1900 U.S. Census, she and both her parents were born in Iowa.
The 1910 U.S. Census entry for Mabel Meriwether says she was born in Tennessee.
She was from Nashville, TN, when she married. She died when Bessie was 10 or 11 months old. Lula's twin sister, Bulah, took Mabel and Bessie to Selma, AL, where they stayed until Bessie was 6. They then moved to Montgomery, AL, until Bessie was 11.
She is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Montgomery, AL, with Anna Eugenia Greene Meriwether.
